GatherGuard Event Liability Coverage

What is the GatherGuard Program?

The GatherGuard program, from Intact Insurance, provides low cost general liability insurance to “third party” users of various public facilities for events. It protects both the user and the facility against claims by guests who may be injured while attending or participating in an event.  Events covered by the GatherGuard program may range from seminars, receptions, and weddings, to sporting events and concerts.

The premium for this coverage is based upon the risk associated with the given event or activity, the number of days coverage is needed, the number of attendees, and if there are any special requirements, such as alcohol liability, food service, etc.

How to obtain a Quote and Coverage:

Prospective tenant users of facilities owned by the APEI member may obtain a quote for liability coverage from GatherGuard without obligation to buy by doing the following:

• Visit the GatherGuard website at https://gatherguard.com/
• Click on “Get a Quote” near the top of the page
• Select the appropriate event category
• Complete the three initial questions and then select continue
• Choose the correct venue code for the specific building where the event is being held.
  • If you know the name of the building, you can search for it using the “Search for a venue” button
  • A full list of venue codes can be found at our Code Lookup page.
• Complete the venue, coverage and event questions and then select checkout
• Verify contact information and then select confirm
  • In most cases, the “Insurance Contact” will be the person or organization filling out the application
• If you are ready to purchase just complete the form and pay with a credit card
