APEI Board of Directors
The APEI Board of Directors is made up of representatives from our membership as well as individuals with expertise in a variety of areas which impact APEI business, for example finance and investing. APEI has been fortunate to have a consistently strong Board of Directors.
One of APEI’s long standing board members, Pam Roope has recently retired and has left the Board. Pam worked for the Wrangell Public Schools as the Business Manager and had more than twelve years of service on the APEI Board of Directors. Her knowledge and experience with Alaskan schools was a huge asset to the Board and she will be missed.
While saddened to see Pam go, APEI is pleased to welcome its newest members to the Board of Directors: Brad Thompson, Philip Zavadil, Aimee Kniaziowski, and Adam Thompson.
Brad Thompson is an at-large member with many years of public entity risk management experience, including 17 years as the Director of Risk Management for the State of Alaska as well as serving at APEI as the Claims Manager for 6 years and Executive Director for two years.
Philip Zavadil comes to the Board with many years of management experience in the government arena and is currently the City Manager for the City of St. Paul.
Aimee Kniaziowski also comes to the Board with municipal management experience, having served over 15 years at the city management level. Aimee previously served on the APEI Board as a member representative. She retired as the City Manager of Kodiak in 2017 and now holds an at-large seat on the APEI Board.
Adam Thompson comes to the Board with both municipal and school district experience. Adam was the Business Manager for the Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District and is now the Assessor for the Ketchikan Gateway Borough.
APEI feels that with the appointment of these new members, the Board remains strong and will continue to lead APEI in the future.
